Built around one job done right
Most people never think about their garage door until the morning it will not open. It is the largest moving object in the house, it carries its own weight on a wound steel spring, and it does that roughly a thousand times a year without complaint. Then one day there is a bang from the garage and nothing works.
Stewart Garage Door Repair Service exists for that morning. We work on residential doors in Milton, Pace, Bagdad and out along the corridor toward Pensacola — the ordinary steel sectional doors on ordinary Santa Rosa County houses, most of them fitted years ago by whoever built the place. We are not a franchise call centre passing your job to whoever picks up first. The address at the bottom of this page is a real address in Milton, and the number goes to the people who will be standing in your driveway.
Living this close to the water changes the work. Salt-carrying humidity gets into lift cables, hinges, roller stems and the bottom brackets, and it starts at floor level where nobody looks. A door in Milton needs its hardware looked at more often than the same door two hundred miles inland, and a great deal of what we replace here failed from the ground up rather than from wear at the top.
What we will not do is sell you a new opener because the drive gear stripped, or a new door because a bottom section got creased. Both of those are repairs. We will tell you when something genuinely is finished, and we will tell you just as plainly when it is not.

On the phone we ask what you heard, what you see, and whether the opener still runs. Those three answers usually identify a broken spring, a stripped gear or a snapped cable before anyone leaves the yard, which means the right part is already on the van.

We diagnose and price the whole repair
On site we check the spring, the cables, both drums, the track, the rollers and the opener as one system, because a snapped cable often has a bent track behind it. You get the price for the full repair before a tool comes out, not a low number that grows.

We fix it and prove it works
When the work is done we balance the door by hand, run it a dozen full cycles, and test the safety reversal against a solid object on the floor with you watching. If it does not hold where we leave it, it is not finished.
